B i o g r a p h y Burgi is an Equine Canada certified level 2 dressage coach and a Horse Council of B.C. recorded judge for dressage and Hack. She has been in the horse business full time for 30 years and her passion has always been dressage.Growing up in Germany she achieved her bronze medallion there, before immigrating to Canada in 1975.With the help of numerous mentors throughout her career, she has trained horses to the PRIX ST GEORGE level. She has worked extensively with the late Dietrich von Hopfgarten and Eleonore Elstone and has taken many clinics from Inez Propfe Credo,Charles de Kunffy and Col. Christian Carde.Studying the Art of dressage throughout her life has enabled Burgi to develop a training system maintaining the integrity of body, mind and spirit of both horse and rider. Competitive highlights in Burgi’s career was a Gold medal at the B.C. summer games in 1993,winning the Canadian dressage championships the same year, winning the High Point thoroughbred trophy at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver, B.C. six times with two different horses. She also won the 2000 Famous Players freestyle competition at Thunderbird Equestrian Centre and numerous championships at local dressage Competitions. In 2005 she won the young horse division at the Country Dressage Parc series with Gomez W. In 2005 she also won the bronze medallion in the Dressage Canada achievement program for training level with the same horse Burgi is currently not campaigning a horse of her own, but is anxiously awaiting the start of her new equine partner’s dressage career. Bacchus is a three month old colt by Sagnol out of a Vulcaan mare and Burgi is looking forward to a long journey with this very special colt. ![]()
